FADE IN:
There is a young man sitting on a couch, playing the newly-released Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. This is JOEL. Then a middle-aged man enters the room. This is BRIAN.
BRIAN: How's the game?
JOEL: Good.
BRIAN: Cool. Hey, so you know how you like random lists?
JOEL: Yes.
BRIAN: Well, I came up with a random list of my own that I wanted to share with you. But it can wait until later, when you're not busy.
JOEL (still playing): It's okay, you can tell me now.
BRIAN: Are you going to pause the game?
JOEL: No.
BRIAN: Oh. Okay, well, it's a list of stage plays that I've seen, either in person or recorded.
JOEL: Um, okay. That's pretty random.
BRIAN: I know. But actually, it's because I'm producing a stage play adaptation of Jo--uh, never mind. I'll just tell you the list.
JOEL: All right.
BRIAN: Plays I've seen live: Phantom of the Opera, The Book of Mormon, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, and The Nutcracker. At least, I think I've seen that last one. It might just be a false memory.JOEL (continues playing):
BRIAN: And then recorded, I've seen Hamilton, Frozen, Diana, Rent, and The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage.
JOEL: Oh, cool.
BRIAN: There might have been others, but those are all the ones I can remember.
JOEL: Okay.
BRIAN: Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. Thanks for--
A young woman enters the room, drinking a diet cola. This is FELICITY.
FELICITY: Hey, what are you guys talking ab--oh, hey, the Ocarina remake!
JOEL: Yeah.
FELICITY: My turn, my turn!
JOEL: But I just started playing.
FELICITY: Ugh, fine, whatever. I'll watch you for an hour, then it's my turn.
JOEL: All right.
Felicity sits on the couch. She takes another sip of her cola, then turns to Brian.
FELICITY: Is this what you guys were talking about? The game?
BRIAN: No, something else.
FELICITY: What?
BRIAN: It's not important. Forget it.
FELICITY: Boy, now you sound like me.
JOEL: He told me a list of stage plays he's watched.
FELICITY: A what?
JOEL: A list of stage plays he's watched.
JOEL: A list of stage plays he's watched.
FELICITY (scoffs): Wow, that's not random at all.
JOEL: But it really kind of is.
FELICITY: Dude. Sarcasm.
JOEL: Oh. Right. Sorry, I'm kind of distracted right now.
BRIAN: I'll leave you guys to it.
FELICITY: Later, theater-guy!
JOEL: You made a rhyme.
FELICITY: I know! I'm a genius.
Brian leaves the room.
FADE OUT.
